I really LOVE working with a variety of media and creating backgrounds, so you would think Art journalling would be right up my street?  Unfortunately not.  No matter how I try, I just can't get comfy with the journalling side of it.

I haven't a clue why......

So, I've decided to just keep on with the background and use stamps to add the text, as above.  The background was created with ink sprays over a doyley and gesso base.  Butterfly images are from a Crafty Individuals Image book (oooo yummy).  The stamps used were by Crafty Individuals (butterflies and moths, large swirl and crackle background), Paper Artsy (alphabet and tiny script), and I am not sure of the word 'Create'.  I think it is a Tim Holtz one???? 

Best get some tea on, an M and S meal deal awaits us!

Crafty Individuals challenge 'A Summer Ball'

The latest Challenge on Crafty Individuals Blog is 'A Summer Ball', chosen by the very talented Danielle Haddon. http://musingsofachocoholic.blogspot.co.uk/   

 I decided on some 'bunting' as shown above.  It was real simple to make using the Crafty Individuals 'Shades of Summer paper pad, the designs and quality of which are amazing! I simply cut the triangles then made the flowers by punching , scrunching and distressing a couple of flowers together and layering them on top of one another, securing them with a brad.  

 The leaves were also punched from offcuts and inked with distressing inks, as were the edges of the bunting. They were strung together with ribbon through 'eyelets' attached with my long redundant Silent Setter.

I also created the card above using one of Crafty Individuals new stamp plate CI-348, an image from one of their A4 glossy sheets and a slide mount.
