New Arrival...........our little grandson, Heath.

Well I have the perfect excuse for not having time to play in my new craft room......The early arrival of our second grandson, Heath.

He was born yesterday at 11.03a.m (almost 3 weeks early) and weighed in at just 6lb 1oz, so tiny.....

I am so thrilled to be a Nanna again.

and obviously Paul is looking forward to being ,Grumps' to another 'little man'.
Can't wait till they are discharged and they can get settled into family life at home.

Craftroom................. at last.......

Well here it is at last, all fitted out and ready to go!

I have had so much fun setting it up and unpacking boxes which had been 'stored' for over 9 months!

I have especially missed my wood mounted stamps. Not so good for storing, but they do look good on display!

I'm hoping I might use my Cricut which has only seen the light of day once!

It's so well insulated that it get so snug in here and the flourescent bulbs are 'daylight' bulbs. In my last craft room I had spot lights and struggled so much with shadows.

I only just had enough room to fit everything in, but after a few changes managed it.

I finally made use of some cat food tins, covered them randomly with ripped paper and used them to store my ribbons.

Now all I need to do is get the kick boards on under the units, hang the ribbon tins under the rubber stamps and start creating again. I can't have a clean desk for too long.

Queen of Hearts journal page

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this page in my journal. Using 'brights' doesn't come easy to me but I think I am getting used to it now.
I created the base with acrylics and added detail by sponging through some sequin waste and over stamping in random areas with CI 161 text stamp.
I added a 'dress made of a couple of hand made hearts, the bottom one of which was overstamped using Craft Individuals 'crackle' stamp. The 3 hearts are from CI-016 and the words on them from CI-139

The 'bunting' was painted and stamped using a Paper Artsy alphabet. The other word stamps used are by Stampendous.

I'm looking forward to another Art Journalling class very soon................

peeps at my journal page and new CI stamps

I was thrilled to find these wonderful stamps on my doormat a couple of days ago! They are the most recent additions to the Crafty Individuals range. Pretty, girly, very vintage and as always very versatile. I am looking forward to getting them inked up and creating a few bits!
CI have also added some gorgeous new dies, embellishments and lace to their web site.....yummy!

I challenged myself to create a journal page using some of my CI stamps as a background

and bright colours which I very rarely use

It's almost finished

So I'll show the full page shortly.

I'll be back VERY soon with my DT piece for the eagerly awaited Crafty Individuals challenge very soon.

Crafty Individuals SPRING challenge...

It's been a long time since my last post, but we are finally on with my craft room which means I will be able to get organised again for creating. I can't wait to unpack all my stuff . It's been in boxes for almost ten months now.

Anyway, back to business. Here is my DT piece for the new Craft Individuals challenge, 'Spring'

Spring brings to mind birds, green leaves and yellow daffodils, so I decided on a wall hanging based on my thoughts. The base was just a bit of old card which I painted with Jo Sonja paints and then added interest by using some old packaging dipped into the wet paint. I was really pleased I tried it as I love it when 'experiments' work out, especially when it's from recycled stuff.

A few days after I had made the hanging, I decided to dismantle it and use the elements on some cards...... here they are.......

I removed the letters first

then mounted the mini 'plaques' in a simple way with a few additions here and there.

All of the stamps used in this post are by Crafty Individuals

Ignore the double entry above. I tried to delete it but you know me and technology!

The card below was for a friend, which unfortunately, due to lack of time, didn't get given, sorry Steve, but we were thinking of you!

I continued making a few more cards as I was on a roll.

I finished by using a couple more bits and pieces I made at a class ages ago to create this card.

Hopefully I will not be too long before I post again with some more art journalling and photo's of my little craft room. It should be getting a coat of paint tomorrow and hopefully be ready for me to move into over the weekend. I did say 'hopefully'....
