'Family' waterfall book

I prepared this book at least 2 years ago, cut it, covered it, inked it, then left it, as we do.

Then, as a little 'extra' for my eldest daughter Gina's 30th, decided to create a little album of relatives, some of whom she had never seen.

On the page above, I added small accordian fold booklet and tied it together with ribbon.

This is one side of it, full of mini photo's of days gone by.

The page above shows Great Grandparents from Norwich, who Gina never got the chance to meet.

And her Great Nanna from Grimsby, who she was very close to. The kids on the pics (now don't laugh toooooo loud) are me and my little sister. (OK I will allow it as they are hilarious I know).

The further you get through the book the older the phot's become......

Going right back to her Great Great Nanna. Gina absolutely loved it as the photo's were new to her. There is loads more in the book but I just couldn't show it all due to time.

Finally, I am having a go at art journalling, but have a LONG way to go. Here's the start of it at least.
Enjoy the weekend.........

I love your keepsake, Sue.
It means so much more, don't you think, when what we create is so personal, like this gorgeous album?

I adore old photos, they are full of charm and either are in sepia tones or black and white. They are so inspiring to work with due to their colour and of course, family conent.

You have inspired me and reminded me that I need to do a project with my parents' old photographs.
Thanks for sharing this.

And you have got off to a great start with your art journal.
Best wishes

Sue xx

a really beautiful keepsake album Sue. It was definitely worth the wait to get it finished! And the photos are just lovely - I had a hairstyle just like yours - must have been the fashion. Did you get a Purdy later on? xxx

This is a gorgeous book. Love the details.
I often think that if we begin something then set it aside a while,we actually do the projects justice. I have been working on a background of mixed media for over a year & as each month goes by I learn someting new, now i know that the final piece will be a joy to show off & not a disappointment.

Wow, what a treasure Sue. It is stunning as always and something I am sure Gina will love.
I must admit we are all guilty of starting stuff and leaving it. I have only just finished my quilt I started last year!!
Hope you are well, it seems like an age ago since I last stopped by.
