Ripe for altering!

Just look at these little beauties! I found them in B and Q's Christmas clearance corner today for 10p each! As soon as I saw them an idea came into my head for the Let's Get Shabby challenge which is 'Summer'.

And yet more bargains from Clinton's. These frames were just 25p each, now will I ever do anything with them?
As you know, I have some new CI stuff to work on, so I began by altering some beer mats to use as bases for cards. I have loads of acrylics from my ceramics painting phase in the 1990's and can you believe they are still OK?

I added texture paste to a couple, heated a few whilst wet to create texture, stuck doyleys, corrugated card and music sheets on, splodged a few colours around and came up with a variety of backgrounds. They reminded me a bit of summer, sky, sand..............

but ended up nothing to do with summer, sky, sand lol!!!!!! This is what they ended up as.
I had seen lots of these cards on the net recently, but never made any myself, so thought I'd use the beer mats on them. The sea holly flower image is from the new CI image book, Natures Beauty, and the phrase is from the new happy birthday plate CI-261, background stamp is CI-235 'swirls' and border punch is by fiskars.

Same style card again, Butterfly from the new CI image book, 'Natures Beauty', fiskars border punch and chipboard 'plaque' painted with acrylics.

You get two of each image, so I decoupaged the butterfly to add a bit more depth.

The light had almost gone by the time I took this, so the photo's a bit dark. Same thing again though. Images from the new book, decoupaged onto a text hand made heart. Words from the new Happy Birthday plate CI-261.

Hope to do a bit more crafting tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be back soon.
