Getting back in the swing of things

At last the book is done!!!!!!!!!! At last, so are the two remaining Tim's 12 tags of Christmas. Here's the first one......... The velvet leaves and ribbons sre so lush......but I must confess I didn't make the rose, it's a metal one.

And the second one here. The filmstrip was just black card punced with a binding macine to give the film strip effect. The faces were punched out with a square punch. A real simple tag. I might mount them as a group in some way in the future.

And here's the monster of a book. I had to split the book, use the largest book rings I could find, and join them together in the middle with small bookrings.

A couple more pages.

At least he will be able to see what we are like when out on the razz!

Two very special people, my Mum and her 'boyfriend', Les who absolutely adore Josh.

The little man himself.

Finally, a special little letter for Josh when he gets older is hidden inside the envelope.

Went to see him briefly today and he was so interested in Disney, stroking his head, well OK pulling his hair then! Diz is always close by. Hopefully they will be the best of friends.

I have decided to take part in a journal calendar challenge hosted by Kate of thekathrine wheel blog. I've never done any journals but started by creating some hand made papers as seen here. The first square was made by sponging Jo Sonja irredescents onto black card with a damp natural sponge. The second was made by scrunching up black paper and dry brushing the paints over the scrunched areas. The third was white watercolour paper, painted randomly with assorted blue acrylics, rubbed over with distress inks then spritzed. On top of this I added some irredescents as highlites. The 'trees' were made from the first 'Tim tag' which I was not happy with. I've started the background for January and will hopefully be posting a completed page soon.

Finally, a little bargain I picked up in the local Clinton's Cards. These little charms are just so cute in their own little velvet and acetate covers.

They are quite heavy quality and have a word engraved on the back, as you can see on the grandfather one below.

And at just 10p each, yeah you read it right, ten pence each! they are a snip!
Well gotta go, Dancing on Ice is beginning at nine!

Wow! Brilliant. Love the tags especially. I think they'll look incredible when you put all 12 together. Don't forget to show us!What a great idea to use the binding machine to make the filmstrip effect. Why didn't I think of that!

Wow Sue, you have been busy! I am afraid that my Christmas journal is upstairs with pages left undone. I have a habit of doing that. With things mad around here I think that will be it for the journal this year. I will try and make an effort next year to actually complete it, maybe journaling on the daily will help if I get behind!! Sweet Josh will surely love it when he is older.
