Altered book page and a mish mash mess!

I have finally got onto my altered book, and it's taken me ages to do just one double page. It looks really bright here, but in real life is far more muted. The page on the left has metal on it, and when I was taking the photo the bright sunshine reflected the red from my top at the bottom of the page.

I was unsure what to theme the book on, so thought I would use some of my favourite word stamps. As a last minute thing I decided to add photo's of 'couples' from our family so in future it might be more meaningful and we can have a good old giggle at the photo's!

I have enjoyed splodging paint around. I even used my redundant 'Ten Seconds Studio' stuff and added a bit of heat embossing.

Well here's the mish mash. Believe it or not I am hoping to transform it into something for a challenge on http://letsgetshabby.blogspot.com/
I will keep you informed on its progress, if there is any lol.

Finally, little Josh, the light of my life! He had his second lot of injections today and we had him weighed while we were there to find he is now 13lb 12 ozs. WOW! I call him my chunky monkey! He's such a happy soul and giggling away now. I just melt whenever I see him.

Paul has a week off from tomorrow, so I'm sure we will be spending some time together with our little grandson, BLISS!!!!!!

Trying to get back on track...

I have to start with a little mention of Ash would have been 21 today......... My thoughts are with his family and my lovely niece Abi.

We do miss his smiling face and 'wild' sense of humour...........................

I just haven't been in creative mode of late, so sorry, not a lot to show, but I am hoping to get back on track.

A few close up's of some Christmas cards, the one above using a Crafty Individuals greeting, which is timeless.

Again Crafty Individual Angel stamp, in a slide mount, one of my favourites. It's lightly coloured with chalks.

A couple more of my all time favourite Christmas CI stamps, very traditional. Used water colour and stickles on this one.

A few more basics, quick enough to run a load off for friends.

And three more 'quickies'.
Here's the lovely Disney, alias 'MR D'
I'm sure he's turning into a cat!!!!! He just loves it on the window sill!!!!

I couldn't believe it this morning. I was baby sitting Josh while Faye went to do her shopping and he just plonked himself on the winowsill?????? Maybe he likes the sun on his back.

Aww bless him. He was just waithing for Faye to come back.

Here's the family, taken on Saturday.

Couldn't resist showing Josh in the scales at the weigh-in clinic. He weighs well over 13lbs.

Her's the little man with Grandad, 'Grumps'. Paul just idolises this little man!

And to finish off, Josh and Faye, taken today to celebrate his TWELVE WEEK Birthday!!!!!
Sorry for the lack of creativity, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes 'runs out of steam'. Hopefully I'll soon be back on track.

Thanks Zandra

Just had to make a quick post tonight to say a massive THANK YOU to Zandra for these yummy Ranger products I received from her in the post today. Lots of Stickles, Liquid Pearls, Crackle Paint and Rock Candy, plus Pop Dots and a card and sticker. I am chuffed to bits, and will get so much pleasure out of it.

Thanks again Zandra!!!!!

It's for you hoo Deb Deb, my new challenge and another archive

I really fancied doing something a bit different and decided to try a short, ejoyable flower arranging course at the local adult learning centre. Off I went, not knowing if I would enjoy it or not, but I tell you now, it was great fun. I think maybe because it was something completely different to working with paper and mediums.

Last week the experienced ladies went along to create floral displays in St James Church, and we were given the an old display each to 'tart up'. These photo's are after I had added some foliage and flowers, (which I havent got a bloody clue what they are called).

It's a bit jumbled for me but I suppose it's given a bit of a longer shelf life to the foliage.......

Here's the first simple arrangement we made. Very, very simple, but quite effective. It consists of Iris leaves, Carnations and Ivy leaves. The teacher was lovely and so very knowlegeable and I am so looking forward to next week.

Another golden oldie from when I had the shop.........

A little Crafty Individual Christmas board book using their papers, stamps and images, along with a few punches, fibers and gems.

Manchester was pretty good with loads of shopping, eating drinking, (water of course) and relaxing. We had the use of a penthouse suite, 2 bedrooms both en-suite, 2 huge private balconies, and upstairs lounge, dining room and kitchen. We even had a private glass lift, woooooh get me!!!!!! It was brilliant for us to be with my sister and brother in law for a full weekend. It seems wierd now that the kids are all grown up and we have our independence back.

We found a little Alladins cave, packed to the rafters with goodies. Not a conventional craft shop, which made it so interesting. I bagged some bargain long fancy headed pins for just 60p a pack. The white and black rose braid will be put to good use on something. If not, what the hell, I liked it!!!!

And black lace, well I just couldn't resist. I could have spent hours in there, but needed to think of the others, so had to drag myself away.
Finally DEB-DEB, this is for you, lol. Here's Josh sporting a cute furry little number bought for him by YOU!!!!! Isn't it just so lovely?

Well that's all for today, thanks for looking, and if you actually read it all, you get a gold star!

Blogging of!!!!

It was our 26th Wedding Anniversary yesterday, and my sister and Brother in Laws 28th just over a week ago, so we are having a weekend in Manchester, hence the 'blogging off' title. I've managed to get the pages stuck together and the base coat on my altered book, here's the result so far. It looks 'all white' to me, lol. Can't wait to get more done next week.

Josh is now weighing in at 11lb 15ozs, and had his first injections yesterday. Gonna leave you with a photo taken yesterday, Josh with me and his BIG friend Disney, alias Mr D. For those who don't know, Disney is Faye's hearing dog. He's loved so much, just another addition to our family really.
That's it till next week, but if anyone knows of any good craft shops in central Manchester, please let me know.
