Wedding cards and Scrap attempt
A family member needed a wedding card for someone TODAY, you know how it is, so I made a couple of changes to a previous card, made it more 'pink', then made an extra one to keep in 'just in case'.
The colours are not good on the photo's as it as getting dark when they were taken, but it shows how a little tweek here and there can change the whole look.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's back to work I go......
Well can you believe it's over six weeks since I finished Paper Paradise, (now Running with Scissors)? Where has the time gone?
Well today was the first class I had taken for absolutely ages, and let me tell you all, I LOVED IT!!!!! A full class of crafting buddies who were regulars on many of my classes and have been very loyal to me for years..........Above you can see Ruth,Val Yvonne and Wendy.

Val, Yvonne, Wendy and Susan.............
And Norma, Dawn and Annette, all concentrating hard, I won't tolerate clowning around in my classes! (yeah, whatever)......
Val, Yvonne, Wendy and Susan.............
The cards we created were inpired by the 'Vintage Beauties' samples from a previous blog entry. We used Crafty Individuals Images and stamps along with vintage papers, scrapbooking paper, ribbons, lace, buttons, punces, pearlex paint pallettes, and liqiud pearls.

Mr Dizz got the thumbs up from Jenny today, he's doing really well. She's started us off on the training for the 'baby cry' in preparation for the arrival of Faye's baby. If we can't manage it he can go away for traaining, but we can't bear to be without him.......... We'll have to see how it goes.
I found this little nic nac in Sainsbury's today. It wasn't a 10p bargain like Ruth found, but at 99p I thought it would be worth altering.
I've made a start on the wedding card, but it's a slow job. I thought I'd make a star book , take a few photos and then add them to complete the book on Sunday.

Mothers Day, 'busy as ever'
Yesterday was as always a busy day! Paul has had a couple of days off at last and decided to rip out the cupboard in the bathroom, and as it went from floor to ceiling made a bit of mess! Then, he decided to rip out the floor to ceiling panels around the bath, which left a lovely few holes in the ceiling so yeah, you guessed, down came the ceiling, and a new one went up along with a change of lighting. He had some time left, so removed the old shower and plumbing that had been left from when the combi boiler was fitted, giving us a good start for when the bathroom suite arrives, 'when' being the operative word!!!!!!!! We ordered it on Christmas Eve and was told it would be two weeks. It's annoying that they have had payment all that time, but we really love the suite, so hopefully it will be worth the wait.....................
The evening was spent at Faye's with Faye, Gina Ash and Steve for a Pizza Hut takeaway, followed by apple pie and custard, my request, and it was lovely. They got me an ipod, in preparation for my walking stints, when I get time, lol!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and a box of chocolates, mmmmmmmm........................ Thanks girls xxxx
Right, back to crafting....................
I finally put the bits together in between labouring for Paul yesterday. Here's one heart, close up,

Dyan at Art from the Heart's tagged me!!!!!!
Not done any creating today as I've been dog sitting Disney. Faye and Ash have been at a wedding all day and night, so Mr D has been with us since 10am, and will remain here until late tonight.
The bits and pieces here are what I'll be working with next. I'll possibly make a long thin card, I used lots of paint layers for the background then ran the top through the cuttlebug, dry brushing the raised areas with white acrylic. I love messing about with my paints.
The hearts were cut freehand and decorated with collage and paint techniques. I'll hopefully get something finished tomorrow.............................
I found a photo to add to the layout designed by Tracey at Running With Scissors. I would love to get confident at scrapbooking, so am looking forward to attending more classes to give me a feel for working on a larger scale.
Now for the giggle of the day. A good few years ago I was fortunate to meet Dyan Reaveley of Art from the Heart in Harrogate at a retail craft show. She was promoting her workshops and I was intrigued by the UTEE on CD's. Although Harrogate was a couple of hours away from Grimsby, I attended the class and was in awe at her creativity. Her work was inspirational and she had a fantastic sense of humour. The workshop was brilliant and I was soon hooked myself!!!! Since then we have remained friends and I have attended more of her fantastic workshops, including a couple of full weekends, which are a brilliant laugh!!! Myself and a couple of friends were at her studio recently at a Tim Holtz demo and hopefully will manage to get to a workshop or two soon.......................................
Now I have to tag some of my fellow bloggers. Unfortunately I don't know how to add links so, I will have to hope you can visit their blogs by searching for these poor souls who I have decided to 'pick on' using these blog names...............
sorry ladies, but it's all good fun lol

Well 'dear Dyan' has tagged me!!!!! I had to take a photo of myself as soon as I read that she had tagged me, without any 'tarting up' - yep, no hair combing, lippy adding, I couln't even add my false eyelashes lol. So to keep Dyan happy, here's the photo. Not central, I know, but it's just as I was after my tea time bath, in my old faithful fluffy dressing gown. Thanks for this Dy I owe you one!

Wedding Card
Had a lovely day today, I've been to Tracey's scrapbooking class and had a couple of hours crafting and socialising with likeminded people! Many of you might wonder why would I go on a class, but believe me, working on a 12" square sheet is daunting to me. I'm used to splodging paints, ripping old papers, stamping and experimenting with a mixture of mediums on a small area, and really do struggle with a large format. I intend to 'get into' scrapbooking as I have so many photos which are worth scrapbooking. Mind you, I expect it will be a while before I am confident to create a layout of my own. When I do, I'll put it on the blog.
This afternoon, I was busy with Faye and her friend Becky, making a wedding card. We used the idea of the card I made below. Becky adapted it by using a smaller heart, omitting the flowers and adding a couple of sentiments.

I have a very special card to make for next Saturday and will share it with you as soon as it's complete. It is a wedding card for a special couple..........................

20 week scan etc.....
I've had great fun using up some 'excess' slide mounts, I've got loads of the things as they are so versatile. I stacked 'em up, stuck 'em together and created a type of frame by using acetatate as a top layer. I've got a few ideas in my head, as soon as time permits, as I'm on with another project at the minute............... oh the joys of being a lady of leisure, well sort of!
This is a view from the side to give you a better idea of what I'm rambling on about. I'm in the throws of making some samples for Tracey's shop, Running With Scissors) to promote my classes, so keep a look out.
Four of my luvly jubbly crafting buddies came for a cuppa yesterday and are really looking forward to the classes starting next Wednesday. We had a lovely morning catching up, I made so many friends when I had the shop, and it's great to keep in touch with so many by email, phone and personally.
Finally the photos from Faye's 20 week scan this week. 19 weeks till countdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vintage Beauties and baby update.....
The little vintage tiles from an earlier post have now been made into cards. I just love the Crafty Individuals sheets of images, they are so classy!!!!
I've loved creating these cards, although it seemed to take lots of attempt to feel happy with the layouts. I've still got one unfinished, but didn't want to leave my blog for much longer without a post.

I was lucky enough to go with Faye and Ash for the 20 week scan of my future grandchild yesterday. I can't believe that she's already half way through! Roll on July 27th(ish)........

Quickie cards
This is Faye's creation! At school she struggled with art. She was forever in the 'bad books' but drawing , shading and colouring was not her thing. However, she loves card making and scrapbooking, and I think if you enjoy it, do it!
We've spent loads of time together of late, and she's forever raiding my stash, but that's what it's all about - sharing....................
I think she's done a lovely job. The rest of the cards are my quick creations, (no laughing Sam and Polly)! Not my usual messy, inky, splodged type cards I know, but my Mum just wouldn't appreciate the grunged up cards i usually churn out.

I am in the middle of making some cards using up the 'Crafty Individual' tiles I created a week or two ago. They are laid out, but need putting together. Paul did another night shift, and my room is next door to the bedroom so can't really get up there while he's a sleep, selfish of him eh? Be back later.......................

'Framed'
I've finished at last! Here are the four seasons tags mounted in the MDF frame. It was areal hard decision to choose the colour for the frame. I really wanted to get away from black, but after trying loads of colours, decided black was the best choice due to the variety of colours I had already used.

I used Jo Sonja acrylcs again, they are not cheap, but they are brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!! Tracey has some at her shop , Running With Scissors. I added texture to the back of the frame and dry brushed it with Gold, again Jo Sonja, then simply stamped around the frame itself. It's been fun doing this project, which seemed to evolve from nowhere, but it's Mother's Day soon, so must get a couple of cards done. Something quick, flowery, pink, pretty, not at all my thing, but as it's over four years since I made a Mother's Day card, anything will be a surprise to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A favour for a friend
My real good friend of almost 40 years needed a special 'acceptance' for a family members wedding. I made a tag, a simple box and lined it with tissue. She wanted 'something special to keep'. I hope this fits the bill........................................
I promise I won't show another tag tomorrow, lol, but I suppose I've enjoyed the process, hence the run on them.

The above close up shows the suede paper heart, embossed with the fantastic 'Cuttlebug'. Butterflies are from Crafty Individuals. They do fantastic little books crammed full of gorgeous images, and at less than £4 are excellent value.

Winter Tag
This is 'Winter' the last of the 'seasons' tags.
It'a a bit hard to show the detail on the background due to the pale colours, so I've taken a couple of close up's.
