What a feelin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today has been special in two ways. The firstwas when I received a text from Gina. A short text maybe, but it wouldn't have meant any more if it was a book............ The words in the text? 'LOVE YOU'.............It made my day to think that although she was going about her normal routines, she thought of me!!!!!!!!!!!! Children just mean so much, even when they are in their twenties.

The second, and it's still based around children, was seeing the scan of our future grand child. Faye is twelve weeks pregnant and due on 28th July, which is my Mum's birthday. We have known since she was just 2/3 weeks but we have been waiting to get to the twelve week stage before we announced it. Here are the scans, oh I am so happy, and relieved that I can now talk about it lol!!!!!!!

Now we all know I WON'T be bored in my retirement ha ha...............

'Before'

I'm desperate to keep 'blogging' so in a last minute bid to post, I searched my photo's and thought it might be interesting to not just see my craft room before it was started. As I said, it was Faye's bedroom, very small and in desperate need of a lick of paint!!!!!! Yo will be pleased to know the fucsia pink and bright orange have been covered with a more neutral colour.

The top right photo shows the unit which housed Faye's TV, DVD player, stereo etc. I kept the unit and Paul changed the shelving to house some drawer units as you will see when I finally get my room finished. The left hand photo shows the wall joined to the unit which now houses stamp shelves and a small work surface.
I don't know how long it will be untill I finally finish the room as I will be flat out for the next month at least, but I'll keep you posted!!!!!!!!!!1

Craft room ahoy!!!!!!

I'm still in the process of creating my craft room. Now the girls are in their own homes, we have a couple of spare bedrooms, so I decided to have my own bit of space for crafting. Those of you who know me can imagine how much stuff I have. The room is very small and we have just taken a couple of foot from it to make our room bigger, so space is quite tight in there. However, I am not complaining, it is really exciting to be thinking about crafting for pleasure again. I've used all the old storage from the shop, so it's a bit of a mish mash of colours and designs, but it will be great. I've only got tomorrow, then it's back to work for the final countdown in February. I'll post some before and after photos when it's all done...............

First Christmas together !!!!!!!!!

A couple of photos of Mr Dizz.

It was his first Christmas with us, and I'm sure he had a great time.

He's so photogenic, we love him to bits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way he's loking up at the ceiling on the middle photo just cracks me up!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's it then!!!!!!!!!

Where did it go? All the hype, excitement an preparation, and it's over in a flash!! Mind you, I've had a fantastic time. I love time spent with the family, that's what it's all about. The surprise engagement added to the enjoyment. I actually MADE a card. Forget the fact that I still haven't got a clue how to get the photos in the right place, and bear in mind this is my fourth attempt at this post, but the pink card was for Gina and Steve. She loves vintage stuff, so that was the style I aimed for. I took inspiration from the vintage serendipity frame I made for the shop, simple collaged and stamped tiles, added a bit of ten second studio embossing, rbbon and flowers etc. The threaded ribbon in the lace was taken from the technique Tracey used on a ascrapbook page. It really does enhance the look of the lace. The blue card was created for Tracey's card challenge in June. I made four ATC's and used them for the backdrop , then added an acetate overlay with the word LOVE. It was a challenge believe me, as blue is a colour i don't like for some reason. I gave it to Faye and Ash for their surprise engagement in July. Looks like my free time might just be spent helping in the preparation for two weddings.......................
